Walk down the main streets of Plymouth and you’ll see right away that it’s a dog-friendly town. Many of the area’s motels, inns and campgrounds welcome pets, as do plenty of places with outdoor dining. Grab a lobster roll and sit at a picnic table with your pet, watching the boats come in and out of the harbor. Stroll down Court or Water Street, and you’ll find water bowls (and sometimes treats) offered by local merchants. And there are miles and miles of trails and paths for walking leashed dogs, from the charming, winding paths through Brewster Garden to the miles of hiking trails at Myles Standish State Forest in nearby Carver or the easy walk between Nelson Memorial Beach Park and Cordage Park, the former rope-making factory.
